Little Things That YOU Can Do To Help The Fore

You might not think it, but your help is so important to giving us that extra push we need in getting that music industry exposure. Just the smallest of effort can make the difference - and throughout 2009 we will be posting suggestions here on the Fore blog of what you can do to help. Remember, we appreciate any spare time you can give to helping the band - so thanks in advance!!

Typing "the fastest selling album 2008" into Google

Our e-press release on the huge success of our debut album Black & White is currently on page 6 of this google search. With your help we can push the page up the hit rating and onto the front page of the google search. It might only take just one record company scout to make that search and we'll get that break we need. The more hits it gets, the more exposure we will receive

Read our article in The Music Magazine - and leave a comment

Another easy thing to do. Type "The Fore" into the search function on The Music Magazine's website www.themusicmagazine.co.uk/ (strangely we're currently only on page 2 of this search - don't ask!!!) - read our article, and leave a comment! You'll need to register a name but you'll be done within a couple of minutes.

Typing "black and white CD" into Google

We're currently on page 12 for this search, but with your help we can easily break into the top 5 pages. Remember the more hits, the more exposure we're likely to get :)

Get The Fore at your university/college

Are you at university/college? Do you know someone who you think might like The Fore to play at their uni/college? Next year we're looking to play more gigs in universities & colleges, so if you are able to put us in touch with the student union or event organiser then we'd love to here from you.

Introducing Andrew McCulloch...

We're pleased to introduce to you Andrew McCulloch as our new rhythm guitarist position. Andrew has been depping for us for the past month or so, and in true Fore style has yet to have an official band practice with us!! Nevertheless he's being doing great and we're delighted that he has joined us. Andrew hails from Southport in Merseyside and has only just moved down to London in the past couple of months. Strangely enough we played on the same bill as Andrew in a gig several years ago but lost touch until he moved down South to check out the London gigging scene.

Not only does Andrew bring some mean attacking rhythms to the band but he can turn his hand to playing piano/organ as well as knocking out a tune on the harmonica as well.

Hopefully you'll be able to see the new look Fore for at a gig real soon.

Christmas Number 1 - Unsigned Chart!

We did it! For those of you who tuned into the Unsigned Chart you'll know that it got all rather tense when we closed in on the top spot - but we did it. Our progress on the Unsigned Chart was No. 4 (September), No. 4 (October), No. 2 (November) and No. 1 (December).

We'll be retiring You'll Be Mine as of next month and uploading a song from our new album 'Run & Hide' for January's song vote. Thanks again for everybody's vote and let's see if we can make it 2 songs in a row!

Gig Review - Sutton Town Centre - 20 December 2008

Afer the late cancellation of Bromley Town Centre the following day it turned out that the gig in Sutton was the last gig we would do of 2008. As with most town centre gigs (particularly the ones around Christmas) nothing went entirely to plan. When we got to Sutton a local church was setting up to perform a puppet show in which they 'spread the word' to songs that sounded suspiciously like "Stop In The Name of Love" by The Supremes and "Sweet Home Alabama/All Summer Long". Not that it mattered; Matt was delayed getting there so it was enjoyable watching Sutton's own version of Sesame Street from 3 metres away...

The weather was much better than last week's gig - in fact it was really mild for a change. As with our last two gigs we had very large crowds, despite the fact that we were playing much further down from our 'prime' spot further up the High Street.

Big thanks to David and Sprucy who came down all the way from Hertfordshire to see us play, hopefully we'll be playing at a venue a litle closer for you in '09!

Gig in Bromley Cancelled This Sunday - but Saturday in Sutton is still on!!!

Unfortunately our slot in the Bromley Town Centre has been cancelled, due to a double-booking of events in the High Street. This means that we won't return to Bromley until the new year, most likely late January. Our gig in Sutton on Saturday remains unchanged and, providing the weather holds out, we'll definitely be playing!! On this occasion we are playing slightly further down the High Street, opposite the second St Nicholas Shopping Centre entrance.

Unsigned Chart Show Update

This Sunday see's the final Unsigned Chart Show of 2008 - and we're hoping to go one step better from our current number 2 position and be number 1!!! As we're said before we really do need your help to give us the final push and reach the number one position in time for Christmas. The Unsigned Chart gets a lot of attention from record company types, so hitting the top spot would be pretty damn fine! Simply click on the below link to vote for You'll Be Mine - you don't need to be a member of the website - just write down why you think You'll Be Mine gets your vote. Oh, and tell all your friends to do the same!!

Press Agent in the US - Chuck Hinson

We're proud to report that Chuck Hinson, music journalist and media columnist has joined our ranks as The Fore's US Press Agent.

Chuck has already been a huge help for us over the past few months, securing us radio air play in no less than 20 states in America and is generating huge interest in the band. We've even had numerous offers to play over in the States however at this point in time our debut wil have to wait. Now with Chuck working with us on a more regular basis though we're hoping that we'll see bigger and better things in 2009.

Gig Review - Sutton Town Centre 14 December 2008

Back in Sutton for our penultimate appearance in the town centre (our last gig there in next Saturday). Sutton, like Bromley last week, obviously had got wind of the fact that it was the first time we were promoting our second album Run & Hide. We literally had crowds 3-4 people deep wanting to get their hands on the new CD! We had a great time and manage to survive the cold. Thanks to everyone that did buy the new album and we hope you enjoy it as much as the first one!

Gig Review - Bromley Town Centre 7 December 2008

Things are never simple on our Showcase Tour. If it isn't raining then there's always something else that crops up to complicate the day! It's Christmas time and we've been having a few problems with merry-go-rounds. Last week we sadly had to pull out of performing in Guildford and in the approach to this Sunday's gig we got wind that another giant carousel had been put up exactly where we normally play. Fortunately, the good people of Bromley Council kindly provided us with a different plot to perform in, and minus Si's stage, we got on to what we do best.

This gig was a bit more special than other cos it was the first chance we had to sell our second album Run & Hide. We had a excellent time, and once again we were helped out by superb Son's Of Mod guitarist Andrew McCulloch again for the day. After a delayed start we play for several hours to the normal large crowds. Bromley is one of our favourite town centres to play in and it's days like this that remind why it's so special. Weather permitting we'll be back in Bromley in 2 weeks time, for the last weekend before Christmas. We can't wait!

Run & Hide - On Sale NOW!

The wait is over! We are now selling our second album RUN & HIDE! If you enjoyed Black & White then you'll love the new album - 15 songs, just for £3. We reckon it'll make a great xmas present! :)

Unsigned Chart Show Update

Exciting from the Unsigned Chart Show - we managed to move up from number 4 in the chart to number 2!!! Thanks for all your help in pushing us up the chart, we really appreciate it. We now need your help to give us the final push and reach the number one position in time for Christmas, and the final Unsigned Chart Show of 2008.
