Well that time of year is rapidly approaching again and at Fore HQ everybody is getting in the spirit.
The managers Neil and Dave are stuffing the turkey, Matt is filling his stockings, Nathan is singing carols and Simon and Spencer are debating whether the 70s or the 80s were the best decade for Christmas singles. Needless to say, we've had another great year and can't wait to get going again in 2010. We hope to play some great gigs next year, meet plenty of new fans and, of course, release our new single 'I Think You're Pretty'.
Thanks again for all your support this year and from all of us to you, we wish you a very Merry Christmas.

New Song - I Think You're Pretty
We have some exciting news - we are shortly going to be returning into the studio to record our NEW single - I Think You're Pretty. Written by Nathan is a punchy number which we're really pleased with. Those of you who saw us in Sutton High Street at the weekend would've heard us playing the song for the first time. We will be promoting the single at our future gigs. Please get behind the band and tell everyone about the new song.

Beatles Day - Friday 10 July 2009
We back in Liverpool this weekend to take part in 'Beatles Day', set up to commemorate the date that the Beatles landed back in England having conquered the USA.
This is pretty exciting stuff, particularly as we're the ONLY band featuring at this years event not to be playing Beatles songs or be a tribute act. Whether your average passerby will think we're playing undiscovered Beatles tracks from the archives is any ones guess, but it should be a great day.
We are playing at Chavasse Park, right in the middle of Liverpool's award winning development 'Liverpool One' which is in heart of the town centre. We're on stage at 1.30pm.

Film Premiere - A Very British Coverup
Well we're back from our trip to Cardiff. Nathan and I made the trip by car (Si and Matt couldn't make it) in soaring temperatures - there's nothing like being stuck in a car with no air conditioning!!! The journey was broken up by playing Nathan's CD of The Jackson's 1983 concert, which was really good - MJ (RIP) at his peak.
The film itself was very good, and our songs were used throughout. We Were Meant To Be opened the film and Run & Hide, That's A Lie and Emma also got featured. The after show party gave us a chance to speak with the VIPs as well as the director. Unfortunately the air con wasn't on/working (I'm starting to see a trend here!) but at least the champagne was flowing...
We eventually got home in the early hours of the morning (a few more and we would've seen the sun come up!), but overall the journet had been well worth it.
The premiere had followed on from a busy weekend which included in Wimbledon (no, not at the tennis!) for a chairty event. We were introduced on to stage by John Altman, 'Nasty Nick' Cotton in Eastenders. John actually played George Harrision in the film 'The Birth of The Beatles'. He was a really nice guy and it was good to meet him.

Number One on The Unsigned Chart!
What a week!
Of course, it started off with the trip to Liverpool and the International Pop Overthrow festival. This was our third appearance at the IPO in a row and this was without doubt our best yet.
Our first appearance was on Saturday at the Cavern Club. We've played the Cavern Club on countless occasisons but this was by far the biggest and roudiest audience we've played there. We went on stage around 11 and by the end of the set we had really given it our best show. To top it all off we got the first (and as far as we know) and the only encore at the whole festival. Time is at a real minimum during the festival so to get an encore was a real special occasion.
On Sunday we hit the streets of Liverpool early and did an off the cuff performance in the town centre, with just one amp and a mic. Despite the low-fi equipment we had a great time and pulled a decent crowd around us. In the evening we played at the Cavern Pub, just across the road from the Cavern Club. Once again we ripped up the stage and had a great time - and then headed down the M1 that evening. Fortunately our trip home was less complicated than the one up there - it took us 10 hours to get to Liverpool on Saturday!
To top off the week we had the Unsigned Chart to look forward to. Previously we hit number one with You'll Be Mine and number four with Emma. This time we had Little Louisa hitting the chart. Little Lou had already climbed to number three the previous month so we were really hoping that it would stayin the top five. Did it hell - it made NUMBER ONE!
Thanks to everyone that voted Little Louisa to number one. To get two number ones in such a short time really is great and we couldn't have done it without your help.

The Fore Featured on Famous 70s Band's Monthly Podcast
Stackridge, the famous 70s band from the UK http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stackridge), will be broadcasting two of our songs on their next monthly podcast, LUMMY DAYS.
Stackridge have been recorded by The Beatles' producer George Martin, played on Lennon's Imagine album and were a favourite of radio great John Peel.
It's a fantastic podcast, and we were ecstatic when we found out that that they wanted to include Little Louisa and No Other Love on this month's edition. Check out the little soundbites provided by Spencer and Nathan as well!

Introducing...Nathan (again!)
Hi everyone, it's just occurred to me that we've got an importnat gig coming up this weekend and I haven't announced the BIG news...
Simon has decided to take a back seat in the band for a while. Whilst he is not leaving the band we wish him well and will see him soon. In the meantime I'm pleased to announce the return of Nathan Persad to the band. No, this is not a dream sequence from an american soap - Nathan really is returning. Those Fore fans who will remember Nathan in the band before will know that Nathan used to play guitar in the band - well now he's back...but as our drummer! Confused? Well, you needn't be - just come down to Bromley High Street this Sunday (12-3pm) and see that all is well and the Foresound remains intact :)
It's great to have Nathan back in the band - he's a great laugh and an even better musican. Hopefully we'll see a few of you down in Bromley this weekend to see the grand unveiling of Mr P!!!

Sutton Guardian Article
Sadly we didn't make it through the opening heats of 'Live & Unsigned', down in Brighton. Matt had terrible trouble with the house guitar amp that he was using (the previous band was obviously a metal-y type band and the 'sound guy' didn't set Mat up anywhere near loud enough) and Andrew couldn't get down to Brighton. Never mind, you win some, you lose some...
On a better note, The Sutton Guardian caught up with me last week to talk about the Run & Hide and our plans for this year. Sadly, much of the 45 minute conversation was cut, but check out page 82 for the published version.

Command House Gig Review
I guess it's been close to two years since we played in Medway (barring a quick visit to the Beacon Court Tavern at the end of last year). We've played pretty much every venue going in Medway, particularly in Chatham where there's a great musci scene going on - but never The Command House - until now that is!
What a great gig this was. Firstly the venue is pretty cool. An underground vault which fronts onto the River medway and Chatham's Dockyard. We were also on the bill with a couple of great bands. Headlinign were The Len Price 3, whcih I've spoken of before but also playing were The Effectives who had a cool indie/mod thing going on. There a great band - and their bassist had the same kind of bass as me!!! Finally the crowd was in the mood to be entertained. it's clear that Chatham loves its live bands and for a small venue they were jammed in.
The night over-ran so we were asked to cut our set from 30 to 45 mins. That was fine - and we ran through a dozen songs or so and gave it our all. Needless to say, the crowd loved it and we enjoyed it as well. Hopefully we'll be coming back again soon and catch up with that crowd again :)
Set List (from vague memory!!)
Have Me Back Again
We Were Meant To Be
That's A Lie
A Girl Like You
Someone New
Man Of Few Words
Little Louisa
I Got A Girl
You'll Be Mine
(maybe a couple more!!)

Chatham - Command House - This Friday!
Well that's the first gig done and dusted. We eventually got off to a flyer this weekend, playing in Bromley town centre. Thanks to everyone who showed up and gave their support. Unsigned Chart And New Gigs
The latest from The Unsigned Chart is that "Emma" came in at a decent number 5 which is not a bad effort at all. Hopefully we can push up the chart in the same way that You'll Be Mine did at the end of 2008. More of that later in February :)
In the meantime we've got some exciting new on the gig-side of things. We will headlining a night at the University of Greenwich's Medway campus in Chatham later next month this falls just after our gig at The Command House, one of THE premier venues in Kent. it's been a while since we last played down in Chatham so we're all looking forward to these two.
Then later in the Summer we will be making a trip up to Liverpool to perform at the only the second ever "Beatles Day". Last years event got loads of press coverage, including on BBC, Sky TV and in the NME. Keep checking the gig listing on our website www.theforeband.com and our myspace page for more details on all these gigs.

Rain
Well it's official - this has been one of the wettest winters on record. That's what the weather man told me the other day, but to be honest I didn't need him to tell me that - cos our Town Centre Showcase Tour keeps being put on hold until we get a dry weekend! First was Guildford and now it was Bromley. Oh well, I guess that what you get for living in England!
Never mind, next week is Sutton so hopefully the sun will shine then. For the timebeing we'll keep checking the forecast...

Don't Forget To Vote on The Unsigned Chart!
Well it's been a while since we last bosted a blog. Not that we've been doing nothing...a lot of exciting stuff is going on behind the scenes and we hope to be announcing a whole load of new loads in the near future. Andrew has also been unwell recently which has kept us lying low for a while.
In the meantime please vote for "Emma" on The Unsigned Chart. You might remember that we finished 2008 as the number 1 on the Chart with "You'll Be Mine" and we're hoping to repeat the feat with "Emma" as well. No one have EVER topped the charts with two different songs so we really want to be the first. Here's the link:

Radio Airplay...and Fish & Chips...
Alan Haber of internet radio station BRCFP, a good friend of the Fore, has posted a couple of songs from Run & Hide on his latest playlist. For those of you yet to buy the album and what a chance to check out our songs (or just like hearing our music :)) then click on the below link:

Also, we have just received word from one of the Fore's Street Teamers that our popularity has reached greater heights - apparently we are the favourite band of the owner of the local fish & chip shop! Apparently after buying both our albums she is hooked (a bit like her fish...). All of us are now looking forward to discounted sausage and chips from now on :)

Vote for Emma on The Unsigned Chart
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Well that's the end of 2008 then! It's been a great year for the band and we're really looking forward to starting off 2009 in the same way 2008 ended.
Of course last year ended with us being Christmas Number One in the Unsigned Chart with "You'll Be Mine". We've decided to retire YBM now and gone for a song from Run & Hide which appears to have received the most attention for everyone - "Emma". How great would it be if we were the first number one of 2009 as well?! Please vote, simply by clicking on the link below:
